Welcome to Namerillo! These are the ground rules for using namerillo.com. By using the site, you agree to these terms. They’re meant to be fair and straightforward.

The basics

Namerillo is a free tool that generates fictional name combinations from curated datasets. The names it produces are random combinations. They are not real people, and should not be used to impersonate anyone.

You can use Namerillo without an account. Creating an account gives you access to ratings, comments, claiming names, and other community features.

Your account

If you create an account, you’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person, please. If we detect abuse (spam accounts, automated signups, or ban evasion), we may remove the accounts involved.

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected].

Community rules

Namerillo has community features including ratings, comments, tags, and name suggestions. When you contribute content, you agree to keep it respectful. Specifically:

Don’t post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, spam, or intentionally misleading.

Don’t impersonate other users, moderators, or Namerillo staff.

Don’t use bots or scripts to spam ratings, comments, or name suggestions.

Do have fun rating names, leaving thoughtful comments, and suggesting names for the database.

Moderators can remove content and ban users who break these rules. Moderator actions are logged for accountability. If you think a moderation decision was wrong, email us.

Content you contribute

When you rate names, post comments, add tags, or suggest names, that content becomes part of Namerillo’s community data. You retain ownership of your words, but you grant Namerillo a license to display, store, and use that content as part of the site’s features (leaderboards, search results, community ratings, etc.).

If you delete your account, your contributed content may be anonymized rather than deleted, to preserve the integrity of community ratings and discussions.

Name claiming

Claiming a name on Namerillo is a fun community feature. It does not grant any legal rights to that name. NamePlates are a virtual in-site currency with no monetary value. They cannot be bought, sold, or exchanged for real money.

Name datasets

Namerillo’s name datasets are curated collections. The generated combinations are fictional and free for you to use in your creative projects, games, writing, or wherever you need a name. You don’t need to credit Namerillo when using generated names, though we appreciate a shoutout.

You may not scrape, bulk-download, or redistribute Namerillo’s raw datasets without permission. Using the site normally (searching, generating, exporting reasonable quantities) is totally fine.

Availability

Namerillo is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running and bug-free, but we can’t guarantee 100% uptime. We may update, modify, or temporarily take down features without notice. We won’t intentionally break things, but software is software.

Limitation of liability

Namerillo is a free tool. We are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the site, including but not limited to: names that happen to match real people, decisions made based on name ratings, or creative projects that use generated names. Use good judgment.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top. Continued use of Namerillo after changes means you accept the updated terms. We won’t make changes that are unfair or unreasonable.
